
About Nasser Tuqan, PhD
Nasser is a Civil Engineer and Global WASH professional specializing in sustainable water security solutions. With over 13 years of experience across Sub-Saharan Africa, South and South-East Asia, and the Middle East, Nasser works at the intersection of field implementation, technical advisory, and systems strengthening. Currently serving as the Global WASH Manager at iDE, he shapes strategy and cultivates partnerships across 11 country programs to scale market-based solutions.
Previously, Nasser managed a humanitarian innovation portfolio for Elrha, gaining critical insight into donor priorities and grant lifecycle management. His background also includes research at the Newcastle University Water Security Hub, where he developed costing models to inform investment decisions by development banks and governments.
Nasser holds a PhD in Water Resources Management and an MSc in Environmental Hydraulics. This academic foundation underpins his practical approach to designing and scaling water treatment interventions. A certified trainer, he is adept at translating complex technical concepts for diverse audiences, from local implementers to global researchers.
