Welcome to the home of the Community of Practice (CoP) on Decentralized Chlorine Use, co-hosted by PATH, Cova, and Mangrove Water.
We’re a international consortium of civil society organizations, private-sector companies, and individuals working together to make water treatment safer and more accessible. Our focus is on advancing localized technologies like on-site chlorine generators and passive chlorination to improve WASH services worldwide.
Think of this platform as our shared space to learn, connect, and advocate. We’re here to have honest conversations about what’s working, what isn't, and how we can tackle common challenges together. We want to build a diverse and welcoming community where every perspective counts -- this community is voluntary and open to all! We are proud to launch the first-ever unified roadmap for remote, sensor-based water quality monitoring in low- and middle-income countries. Co-authored by global experts alongside Cova and PATH, this agenda identifies critical technology, policy, and funding gaps mapped to the SDG 6 framework.

Advocate
The Community of Practice functions as a global advocacy alliance that works to support funding for decentralized chlorine production. Our advocacy efforts also focus on establishing monitoring and accountability for these activities through national and local health systems. Furthermore, we deliver concerted messaging to stimulate innovation and accelerate market access for onsite chlorine generators.
